IMMERSCOM is the first international conference that focuses on bridging the traditional gap between immersive technologies and networking for the capturing, processing, analyzing, transmitting and enabling the remote fruition of objects, environments, and bio-entities.
 |
The strategic objectives of IMMERSCOM are:
* Introduction of networking as the instrument for the remote fruition of immersive multimedia content.
*Assessing the sensing, processing, transmission and fruition technologies currently available for immersive telecommunication applications.
*Promoting interdisciplinary flow of technical information among industry systems designers and researchers with feedback from the end users.
*Identification of technical challenges to provide end-users with the expected remote immersive experience in various application contexts. |
| |
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Selected papers will be considered for publication in:
* the "Advances in Multimedia" Journal,
* the "Signal, Image and Video processing" by Springer Journal,
* the "Advances in Human-Computer Interaction" Journal,
* the ACM "Computers in Entertainment" magazine, and
* the ACM/URSI/Springer Wireless Networks (WiNET) Journal.
- Microsoft Research will provide a number of Student Travel Grants to Students Authors with accepted papers in the conference. Application information is now available on the website.
